Expana proposes to change the monthly and weekly assessment schedule for some of its Nut EBP

Expana proposes to change the monthly and weekly assessment schedule for some of its Nut EBP

January 8, 2025

Expana proposes to change the assessment schedule for some of its US-based Nut Expana Benchmark Prices (EBP) from Friday, March 28th, 2025, onwards. The proposal is suggested to align assessments with the time-zones they operate in. This would impact assessment times as well as assessment days. Expana is collecting feedback on this proposal until Friday, February 14th, 2025.

The proposed changes would see:

  • The weekly US Almond, Pecan, Walnut, Macadamia, and Pine Nut EBP assessed on Thursday every week at 16:00 US Eastern Time, from currently 16:00 UK time.
  • The weekly Almond Product, Hazelnut Product, Peanut, and Pumpkin Seed EBP assessed on Friday every week at 16:00 US Eastern Time, from currently 16:00 UK time.
  • The monthly US Nut EBP containing assessments for US-origin Pistachios, Pecans, and Walnuts, assessed on the last business day of every month at 16:00 US Eastern Time, from currently 16:00 UK time.

The proposed changes would bring the assessment schedules in line with the region they are assessed in. Full details of our methodology, including the public holidays observed in the Americas, can be found in the Expana Assessment Methodology Guide available here.
