Expana proposes to launch Egyptian IQF Vegetable Expana Benchmark Prices
November 8, 2024
Expana is proposing to launch monthly Expana Benchmark Prices (EBP) for IQF vegetables of Egyptian origin and is collecting feedback from market participants until Friday, 6th December 2024.
If the industry supports this proposal, Expana suggests launching the monthly assessments on Tuesday, 31st December 2024.
The proposed specifications for the assessments would be as below:
The proposed assessments would reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 London time.
Egypt is a significant exporter of IQF vegetables, particularly to European and Middle Eastern markets due to its favourable growing conditions, relatively low production costs, and strategic location.
IQF vegetables are widely used across the food industry, particularly in the production of ready meals, soups, sauces, and as ingredients in foodservice and retail products. By freezing vegetables individually it ensures that each piece retains its texture, colour, and nutritional value, making them ideal for high-quality, convenient food applications.
The proposed assessments would provide Expana’s subscribers with reliable insights into market trends, supply chain fluctuations, and pricing pressures. Additionally, these assessments would support benchmarking against other major exporters, helping Expana’s subscribers to assess cost-competitiveness and price stability across various regions.
If you have any feedback or suggestions on this proposal, please send this to [email protected] by 6th December 2024 and clearly state which market note your comments relate to, and if comments are intended for publication by Expana.
Expana will acknowledge receipt of all comments by email.
