The assessments will reflect the transactable value at 16:00:00 Eastern time on the last business day of the month.

Note that due to Expana’s observance of the US Thanksgiving holiday, the November 2024 prices will be published with an assessment cutoff time of 13:00 ET on Wednesday November 27th, instead of the usual 16:00 ET on Friday, November 29th.

The assessments complement Expana’s existing coverage for the North American IQF markets and cover commonly traded produce items in the category.

IQF fruits and vegetables are extensively utilized across various sectors of the food industry, with particular emphasis on ready meals, soups, sauces, desserts and as key ingredients in both foodservice and retail products. The IQF process involves freezing each fruit or vegetable piece individually, which helps maintain its natural texture, vibrant color, and nutritional value. This preservation method ensures that the item retains its quality even after freezing, making them an ideal option for high-quality, convenient food solutions. The ability to freeze fruits or vegetables in this way allows manufacturers to offer products that are not only convenient and long-lasting but also maintain the fresh taste and nutritional integrity of the original produce. As a result, IQF fruits and vegetables are widely regarded as a superior choice for a variety of applications, from consumer meals to large-scale food production.

By focusing on these items, Expana will better align its offerings with market demands. The launches would introduce additional independent and reliable benchmarks for commonly traded items within this category. These initiatives will provide stakeholders with more independent benchmarks for frequently traded items in the IQF category.
